Maison Mascarell was founded by Emilie Mascarell, a French entrepreneur with over 15 years in the beauty and fragrance industry, including 10 years at Le Labo. Drawing on her heritage and product development expertise, she launched the brand in New York with a clear vision: to refine the realm of eco-conscious home products through sustainable design, sensorial formulas and ethically sourced materials.

Most liquid hand soaps are formulated with up to 90% water, packaged in plastic bottles, and shipped over and over. Each pouch contains only what’s essential. Less packaging. Less weight. Less waste.

There is a mark on the back of your Maison Mascarell glass bottle. Fill it up to there with lukewarm water, add the contents of a refill pouch, give it a good shake, and voila! Your hand soap will be ready within a few hours.

Yes, you can! Our boxes and shipping materials are fully recyclable through curbside programs. Our glass bottles are designed to be reused and are perfect for refills. As for our paper pouches, we recommend checking with your local recycling center to see if they can be recycled there; if not, our partnership with Pact ensures they won’t go to waste.

We collaborate with industry leaders to deliver products that are high-quality, sustainable, and produced responsibly. Our hand soap tablets are made in France, our glass bottles in Italy, and all our boxes in the USA.

Our hand soap tablets are made without SCI, a common foaming agent that dissolves very quickly but is made through a process some environmental standards choose to avoid. Instead, we use a blend of ultra-mild, plant-based cleansers that are gentle on skin and align with our sourcing values. This means the soap blends gradually, which is normal for our formula. For best results, fill your bottle with lukewarm water first, drop in the tablets, and shake gently. The soap can be used shortly after mixing, but the texture will fully smooth out within a few hours. We love preparing it in the evening as part of a slowing-down ritual.

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover), as well as ShopPay and Paypal.

We ship from Brooklyn, NY within 1–3 business days via UPS Ground, FedEx Ground, or USPS Ground, depending on where it’s headed. Orders placed after 12 PM EST start processing the next business day. Most deliveries take 3-7 business days, but they often arrive much sooner if you’re in NY or nearby states. We’ll send you tracking details as soon as your order is on its way. We offer free standard shipping within the US for all orders over $35.

We ship to all locations within the continental United States, except PO boxes.

Tracking information may take 1-2 business days to update in our system. If you suspect your order has been lost in transit, please contact concierge@maisonmascarell.com.

Occasionally, an order may be marked as delivered a day before its actual arrival. If this occurs, please wait 48 hours after receiving a delivery confirmation email before reaching out to our concierge about lost packages.

Unfortunately, we cannot cancel, change, or add items to your order after it has been placed.

We accept returns only for products that are unopened, unused, and returned within 10 days of receipt. As a small business, we are unable to cover return postage for orders under $60.
